About Me

Hi everyone! My name is Ayan. I am a 4th year undergraduate student at UVic, studying Economics with a Finance option, and I plan to graduate in April 2027. I grew up across a few different countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya, before coming to Canada to study. I am interested in pursuing a career in finance and public markets.

Outside of school, I spend as much time outdoors as I can. Hiking is my main way to reset, and the first photo is from a suspension bridge above a waterfall on a trail near Vancouver. I also follow football/soccer closely. The second photo is from a World Cup match in Vancouver this summer, which was easily the highlight of my year. My favorite team is Manchester United.

What I am hoping to get from this course is a better sense of how to build a personal learning network that is useful professionally, and a clearer understanding of privacy, data ownership, and licensing when publishing online.

My favorite song is Dai Dai by Shakira and Burna Boy!
